COSSA's Social Science Advocacy Day is back! Join COSSA on March 23-24, 2026 in Washington, DC! Advocacy Day brings together social and behavioral scientists and science advocates from across the country to engage with policymakers.

You will be teamed up with other advocates from your state and participate in a day of in-person meetings with House and Senate offices on Capitol Hill (March 24). Through these meetings, you will share why federal support for social and behavioral science research is so important and how you or your institution can be helpful to your elected officials. You will be given all the resources you need to have successful meetings.
The stakes for research funding have never been higher as we confront new challenges and remain in a particularly uncertain political and budgetary environment. Social Science Advocacy Day is a must for all stakeholders who care about the fate of federal funding for social and behavioral science research and who believe this research should be used to inform sound public policy.
This opportunity is available to individuals affiliated with a COSSA member organization. If you are a member of or employed by one of COSSA’s member organizations, you are eligible to participate. You can check your organization/institution's membership status here.

TIME: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (subject to change)
LOCATION: 20 F St NW Conference Center
Meet up and strategize with your state teammates and learn about the “asks” and messages for you Capitol Hill meetings.
TIME: 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
LOCATION: The rooftop of 20 F St NW Conference Center
Wind down with your teammates and colleagues at our evening reception (drinks and hors d’oeuvres provided).
Tuesday, MARCH 24, 2026
TIME: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (start times will vary)
LOCATION: Capitol Hill
A “Home Base” location will be provided for advocates to use between meetings and/or to store luggage and other items.

The early bird registration rate is $95. This will increase closer to Advocacy Day, so register now to lock in your lower price! Students (undergraduate or graduate) can register for $50. Registration fees are NONREFUNDABLE, but may be transferred to another person if you are unable to participate. If you wish to participate but the fee presents a hardship, please contact us.
