COSSA's Social Science Advocacy Day is back! Join COSSA on April 8-9, 2024 in Washington, DC! Advocacy Day brings together social and behavioral scientists and science advocates from across the country to engage with policymakers.

You will be teamed up with other advocates from your state and participate in a day of in person meetings with House and Senate offices on Capitol Hill (April 9). Through these meetings, you will share why federal support for social and behavioral science research is so important and how you or your institution can be helpful to your elected officials. You will be given all the resources you need to have successful meetings.
This fun, informative event is a must for everyone across the social and behavioral sciences who care about funding for research and who believe this research should be used to inform sound public policy.
This opportunity is available to individuals affiliated with a COSSA member organization. If you are a member of or employed by one of COSSA’s member organizations, you are eligible to participate. You can check your organization/institution's membership status here.

Meet up and strategize with your state teammates and learn about the “asks” and messages for you Capitol Hill meetings.
TIME TBD
LOCATION: The rooftop of 20 F St NW Conference Center
Wind down with your teammates and colleagues at our evening reception (drinks and hors d’oeuvres provided).
Tuesday, APRIL 9, 2024
LOCATION: Capitol Hill
A “Home Base” location will be provided for advocates to use between meetings and/or to store luggage and other items.
We have compiled a list of hotels in the area here. COSSA will not be reserving rooms on behalf of advocates this year.
The registration rate is $125. Students can register for $50. Registration fees are NONREFUNDABLE, but may be transferred to another person if you are unable to participate. If you wish to participate but the fee presents a hardship, please contact us.
